The ROV Hair Clip Camp Development Case Study A Team That Loves to Create Ok, I will admit a pub was involved in this one. The challenge was to develop a fast, reliable Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) clamp for subsea monitoring systems. The quantity opened up the opportunity to mould the clamp from PU, the first ROV spung-loaded plastic clamp. This decreased the operation, made deployment and recovery significantly faster than a screw thread, therefore reducing costs in manufacture and deployment. After only one beer and some scribbles on napkins, I said we need an ROV version of a hair clip! The result was a very happy client and ROV crew.
